Samsung Galaxy is Samsung Electronics' flagship line of Android smartphones and tablets.

The original Samsung Galaxy smartphone debuted in 2009, and the line's first tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab, came out the following year. More than 60 different Samsung Galaxy models have hit the market since then, including an Android-based camera. Popular devices include the Samsung Galaxy Note and Note 2 phablets, as well as the S III and S IV smartphones.

As the world's top smartphone manufacturer, Samsung has taken steps to distance its Galaxy devices from the Android name, in an attempt to re-frame the Apple vs. Android debate as an Apple vs. Samsung debate. For example, the company adds significant additional features to its phones than what is available through the stock Android operating system, such as its Samsung Approved for Enterprise security application program interfaces (APIs).
