VMware Horizon Suite

VMware Horizon Suite is a collection of products and technologies designed to help information technology (IT) administrators deliver applications and secure data on a variety of endpoint devices.

The products and technologies in VMware Horizon Suite include

Horizon Application Manager - lets an IT department control access to corporate applications from mobile devices

Horizon Mobile - supplements Horizon Application Manager with mobile virtualization (on Android) and application wrapping technology (on iOS)

Horizon Data (formerly Project Octopus) - a corporate cloud storage and file-sharing service.

Project AppShift - technology that aims to improve the experience of using virtualized Windows applications on mobile devices.

VMware released Horizon Application Manager in 2011; the other components were either in beta or not available when VMware announced Horizon Suite at VMworld 2012. At that conference, VMware said Horizon Suite would be available in 2013.
