iPhone Configuration Utility
The iPhone Configuration Utility is free software for Windows and Mac OS X that lets an administrator control how
an iOS device works within
an enterprise IT network.
With the Apple iPhone Configuration Utility, an IT administrator can create an Extensible Markup
Language (XML) file called a configuration
profile to govern user access to corporate software applications and data. The iPhone
Configuration Utility also allows IT administrators to deploy corporate apps to iOS devices. Apple
released the iPhone Configuration Utility in 2008 and has since added additional mobile device
management (MDM)
features to iOS, such as application program interfaces (APIs) that
let administrators deploy, update and remove configuration profiles wirelessly, without requiring
physical access to individual iOS devices.
